Memo Board DIY

We just completed about the fastest DIY we've ever done!  We each bought a framed cork board at Home Goods for $49.99 (30" x 40").  Mine came with a white frame, which I liked, so I kept the frame as is.  Bethany's is gold, so we intend to paint it a different color.

We sprayed the cork with spray adhesive, cut the fabric to fit inside the frame and tucked the edges underneath the frame.  10 minutes, tops!

The fabric is Zebra Skin outdoor fabric by Calico Corners and was on sale for $11/yard.

First, we cut the fabric to be about 1/2 inch larger than the cork.

We sprayed the cork with spray adhesive.

Then we tucked the edges under the frame with a spackle knife (you can use any straight edge).

And finito!

I still have to put a few more finishing touches on my office before I reveal it, but we're almost there!

  5. Looks great! I need to do this today. My daughter's going into high school and the social events are getting a little out of control. She needs this in her room pronto to keep up with invitations. In fact, with your directions, maybe she can do it herself!

    1. There is a gap between the cork and the frame, so just spray the edges of the fabric with glue to push it under the frame edge with the spackling knife, so some sharp tool Good luck! give it a try.
