I love how symmetry feels on the eyes. And symmetry doesn't have to be matchy-matchy. It can be different and mixed while each end of the scale is balanced. I do not never-have never-will like matchy-matchy, I do like the balance I feel from an even scale.

I am so big on symmetry. I struggle with that rule of three so often because of this!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I like the look of symmetry, but I never know when to stop. It is a lot of place it and remove it for me.
ReplyDeleteI love both looks ~ perfect for my indecisiveness! :) Rio always tries to get more than one ball in her mouth, for the life of her she can't do it!
ReplyDeleteI love symmetry, but think as you do. I avoid matchy matchy! Your examples prove it's possible.
ReplyDeleteI love the dog photo! ha! I like symmetry! In most places....and then of course somewhere something has to be off...maybe an odd number of pillows or something. I think the magic is in the mix of symmetry and asymmetrical.
ReplyDeletethe older I get the more I like the steven thing too! even! but there is nothing that I have seen in a very long time that cheered me as much as your last photo to get me back in the mind set of 3 is always best! so gosh darn cute!
ReplyDeleteHilarious photo of the dog and so would love hanging out on that patio!! I am always drawn to symmetry, it just feels right to my brain.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to do ... complete symmetry ... then throw one thing in just to throw the whole thing "off" a little bit!! xo
ReplyDeleteI love symmetry...it just feels right...Love the picture of the dog!
ReplyDeleteMy symmetry issues depend on the room.
ReplyDeleteLove the mouth full of balls!
How many can Wilma Applesauce hold?
I like a mix of symmetry and asymmetry. I don't like things too predictable. Like that last photo. Didn't see that coming.

I can't sleep if I don't have formal balance.
ReplyDeleteI used to be patchy-matchy, but ever since I discovered the wonderful world of Houzz and blogs like yours, I am so like you. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoyed this and I will be back for more. Thanks
