One of the items on our blogging 'bucket list' is to take better interior shots of rooms. My son, the artist, helped us tweak some of the photos from Bethany's master bedroom re-do, and I hate to let them go to waste, since they're so much better than what we posted. Maybe we should hang it up and hire out.
Here are some shots Michael selected and improved upon for us. We have a Mac and were just using iPhoto to edit. I think I need Adobe Photo shop STAT.
And we're not foolin' anyone here either, Michael and his girlfriend, Lauren, took most of these photos. But, we surely had a blast doing this challenge and can't thank Linda enough for organizing it. We have made wonderful new blogging friends as a result, and are looking forward to the next one!

nancy and bethany: Must admit I've been lurking here all six weeks of the challenge (shame on me!) I am a massive fan of color and pattern all over the house. But in the bedroom, I prefer calm. Your take on calm has spots of color I adore and relies on a lot of texture (the rug, the lamp, the throw) I really like that. And these pictures are amazing. This is a big inspiration for my future master bedroom:) Thanks for everything. I am so glad I was introduced to your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteTrish, that is so cute that you came out and commented! Thank you so much for following our challenge and giving us such compliments. We are having a ball doing this, and validation like yours fuels us!

ReplyDeleteI meant to comment on the photos yesterday and also Wilma! Both are as fabulous as your beautiful room!
ReplyDeleteIt's just a gorgeous on the second look! I'm loving the little details - those earrings are so pretty. Some photo shop technology and a tutorial, are on my to-do list, too.
ReplyDeleteLadies, a gorgeous room full of wonderful details! Adore the mirrored side tables!

Those shots are fabulous. I wish I had your son around here! MC and I are working with a Kodak (easy share)12 megapixels. We've had it for years. We apologize for the pictures of our Bucket List House...they are pathetic! Maybe someday we will get a new camera. I could always "accidentally" drop it in the tub!!

Love the one with the dog. The room looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteOk, these pictures are fabulous, but the sweet canine human steals the show! You know how much I love animals and hope to find another darling as soon as I get over losing my Lady. I had decided on a dog, but just felt guilty, so I will wait a little longer. I need to get to the point that I don't compare.
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is just perfect. I know that you are SO happy with it.
Happy Thursday.

Just beautiful! I'm on the verge of a master BR overhaul myself, so I'm loving all of your fantastic inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAmazing what good photography can add to an already awesome room!
ReplyDeleteHi, Nancy - Beautiful photos of a smashing room!! I'm glad you shared the photos. Maybe Michael and Lauren can join Powell Brower Home?

well I'll declare..they are great...those little tweaks! Wilma...she makes me laugh! I love her. I think I like the turquoise earrings in the wooden bowl
ReplyDeleteI liked the pictures the first time around but these are wonderful. I must admit, I fall short on my pictures and I would love to learn how to take better ones, but I just don't have time to devote to it. Too many irons in the fire right now. But Michael and Lauren do wonderful work!

This bedroom is insanely gorgeous! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to take a bad photo when the canvas is so great. Love the finished room. These new photos are great and you ladies did such a wonderful job on the makeover! PS--dying over that story of the cable knit throw...knowing you got such a steal makes me want it even more! (but you're right, it was meant to be)
ReplyDeleteGreat job. I love how classic and worldly it all looks. The rug and headboard are my favorite. He took some really great photos too. Bravo!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics the first time around, but I agree, these ones are pretty amazing too! Overall, no matter what type of camera or effect you use, this room will still end up gorgeous to look at. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the details of your delicious room up close. Great photos. I know you must be enjoying sweet dreams in your beautiful bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI hope I don't hurt your feelings...he is really good! These are the kind of pictures I want to take. Love them....and the dog!!!
