Library 2 ways

We thought we'd share some of the eBoards we have done for a some client.  Here is a library redesign using the client's existing black leather chairs and built-in bookcases.  We suggested layering in some texture, adding color or grasscloth to the back of the bookcases, painting all the trim white, new lighting window treatments and rugs.

We have volumes of eBoards, so I figured it was time to do some posts about our eDesign process.

When a client contacts us, we send them a questionnaire and request that they send us some photos of the room.  We also like to set them up with a Pinterest page so they can pin things they love and we can view their folder.  Then Bethany and I create the virtual plans.  If the client is out of town, we email them the plans and follow up with a conference call.  If they are local we have been presenting the plan face to face, which honestly we love to do, but are having to revamp our price structure to reflect the hours we both pour our hearts and souls into every project. It's a learning process for us, too!

Room Design client

Two weeks ago we met with Gwen who had just moved to a condo and wanted help decorating. She  and her husband like to go to estate sales and look on Craigslist for vintage finds but it wasn't coming together on her own, so she called us.  Prior to our consultation she identified her style as Mid Century Modern, cut out magazine clippings of room ideas for us and filled out our questionnaire- an "A+" on her homework!  Our  e board design seemed a perfect fit so she  hired us to come up with a plan to execute on her own.  Sunday we gave her two plans.

The large room has alot of natural light, a gorgeous tray ceiling and multiple task areas in need of storage solutions. Remember Bethany's Swiss Army Knife Room post about the multi-functional woman cave? This is it. 



When we met with Gwen, our reason to be doing what we love was validated. She absolutely loved both plans and is super excited to get started. She now has a roadmap of how to pull her room together and can't wait to get started!

This is such a rush for us. There are clients that just need the plan and want to do the rest themselves and there are those that don't want to do any of it. Either way, Bethany and I are in design heaven.   Thank you all for letting us share!

e Design

Here is a design board for a client proposal based on a wonderful settee from Anthropologie that our client wanted to incorporate.  I love how you can pull a whole room together from just one piece you love - a rug, a casegood, an antique, a painting. A great tip for people with a creative block is to start by building your vision around a piece you really love!
