Another trompe l'oeil

This Vives Fremont porcelain tile is really good!
Would you use tile instead of real wood?

I definitely wood, pun intended.

  1. Nancy, I love the patina of aged oak herringbone floors which I will have one day!
    The porcelains are incredible though!

  2. I would prefer wood, but in some cases where there's to much dampness wood tile works well. It now looks fantastic!

  3. I like them. How do they feel underfoot? How they would add to the value of a home today is probably in question. Today's buyers are obsessed with hard wood flooring. Just listen to HGTV! What today's buyer doesn't realize is that the hard woods that are used in most new construction or redo's are "engineered wood" flooring. Not solid true hard woods. They have a lot of draw backs. They can not be sanded or refinished. I would have a hard time deciding if I were to redo my flooring today.

    1. I was primarily thinking of applications like sunrooms, bathrooms, etc. you can't beat the integrity and longevity of real wood that's for sure!
