Graduation inspiration

 Happy Weekend

I am a sucker for motivational speeches.  In light of all the graduations happening this time of year, I came across a Commencement Address at University of Texas at Austin 2014 by Navy Admiral William H. McRaven, a Navy seal for 36 years.  These are valuable life lessons to be learned and I hope you read this address and find it as inspiring as I do.
Congratulations to all graduates and their families .

  1. I LOVE watching and hearing these kinds of speeches too, and I always ask graduates WHO their speaker would be and to tell me about them! YOUTUBE has loads of them and it was funny, just last week my hubs and I were laughing our heads off with Stephen Colbert and Conan O' Brien's speeches years back, and enjoyed George Saunders speech too on kindness when he spoke at Syracuse last year! Have to check out this one for sure! Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!

Powerful speech...and I hope they took it all to heart as they go off in search of their dreams.
Stay the hell away from the bell, sugar cookie!
    Thanks for sharing, Nancy.

  7. Wonderful Nancy, and thank you for sharing this. I don't know if it's possible to fully appreciate what our military folks do unless we know someone (or hear a speech like this one) .. that's served our country. We all do feel insignificant at times and it's important to be reminded that WE do matter and so do the decisions we make each and every day.

My youngest graduates with her Masters in Accounting (we did the 5 year payment plan!) in two weeks. I'm feeling a little JUICED out having just finished putting both kids through school. Now they both need to get their lives going and start a new chapter.

  9. Wow,a great read as we are about to begin a brand new week. And he's right about the bed making. I always feel better about facing the day if my bed is made before Ieave the house!
