I used to love this look. Loved.
But then blogland killed it for me. Now I've seen it way too many times. I've seen it redone by bloggers, and redone quite well I might add. But now I cringe when I see a Moroccan rug (or grey and white chevron).
Does that ever happen to you? An over saturation of a trend or style that starts to have the adverse effect? I hate when this happens, its similar to when you start to hate your favorite song because you've listened to it on repeat (Luke Bryan, anyone?).
Which ones have you felt this way about?
Yes. That totally happens to me. Its really tragic when that look or part of it has found its way into my house.
ReplyDeleteNot a lot, but I know what you mean Bethany. That's why I try not to sway too much with trends and try to see things as they truly are, something I would love forever. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappens to me all the time. That's why I have a love-hate relationship with blogs and Pinterest :)
ReplyDeleteAll the time! It bums me out when I see something I love in Target, and know everyone will have it! On the other hand I have some Ikea pieces that are SO popular, I try to do something to make it a bit unique.
ReplyDeleteYES!! All the time actually. It's totally cyclical. It is always funny to try and guess what that next thing will be that becomes so over done. :)
ReplyDeleteAll of the crapola in front of the TV bothers me more than the trended-out Beni.
ReplyDeleteYep, as soon as it is in Target or Home Goods I want to scream and run. But some of it I still buy. I am and have been a chevron lover BEFORE it was hot. I remember my first bout with this was when I discovered roosters. Then when I started collecting (beautiful unique ones, I might add) they started turning up in Target. It was a sad day for me ... I have phased them out of my life!!! xo
ReplyDeleteMe too! I'm done with Chevron, roosters and --- don't shoot me --- animal skin rugs.
ReplyDeleteKind of over all the mood boards that look alike. Particularly the neutrals and creams with a little spa blue. Over it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great console, I love floaters.. that is soo cool!
ReplyDeleteChalk-painted road-side finds with the edges distressed. "Carry On" posters. And poufs.
ReplyDeleteOver trending of anything is always a bad thing always and this either replaced by something related to that or the people get fed up with the same later. So this does happen to me as well.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh yes, chevron is sooo overdone it's ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteWow you have a very nice blog. Thanks for sharing this.
