This is by far my favorite genre of design. I have a pinboard specifically dedicated to the topic, as I hope to always keep this mantra front and center in my mind while adjusting my own home.
For me, there's just something very sensory about layers of textures paired with neutral backdrops and surroundings. And since we get to work with pops of colors all day long, sometimes you want something to refrain from color. The textures then help the colorless things come alive.
I so love that first image!!
ReplyDeleteYep, I am with ya!! I am single handedly trying to seagrass everyone's floors in New England!! Including my own, just haven't been able to do it yet!! xo
ReplyDeleteI love neutral in my own home with small pops of color. This home is fabulous!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteI love it too!
ReplyDeleteIts one of my favorites too...
ReplyDeleteI love how the room is uncluttered and the plants are large scale and really make a statement. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love neutrals too, but didn't realize how hard it is to pull off well until I tried it in my current house. Texture, that is the key!! Love your inspiration images.
ReplyDeleteAmen, I have the first picture somewhere in my file, love the contrast of the ceiling and floor. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. I love color but also love neutrals with texture...the layers is what makes it so great!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Very peaceful and calming....something every life needs.
ReplyDeleteI had always wanted lots of colour in our home, but I have found that the last few years I am lightening up. i feel so much calmer in a neutral space; and as you pointed out, the layers and textures make all the difference.
