DC Design House, Part 2

Thanks for your enthusiasm on the rooms we showed yesterday! It is so much fun to see the comments.

I want to mention the most wonderful design team called Finnian's Moon Interiors who did a twins' nursery at the design house.  Nancy Twomey was so genuine and warm as she shared her inspiration and ideas with us.  Her room was soft, not too gender-favored, ingenious and so creative.

Ribbed paper panels behind the cribs, mesh drapery panels, smooth iron cribs...all a bit unexpected, but perfect!

Reading time on a loveseat, rather than a chair--r genius for twins!

The color is F&B Charleston Gray (243) and it was dreamy.  This closet paper is F&B's Tessala Wallpaper (BP 36-01) - sorry for the blurry pic!

Here are some more vignettes of the house as we soaked up the beautiful details.

Victoria Neale's embroidered crewel drapes were divine - soothing blues, greens, taupes.

Here are some other shots of impacting products and vignettes like this $37K Moroccan rug that David Mitchell designed his library around.

Hope you enjoyed this as much as we did! We took a sidetrip after the showhouse and we'll  show you this fabulous design's studio next week.  Here's a hint - the designer's initials are the same as the city we were in!

  5. This is all so beautiful! I'm stuck on those crocheted doilies/hats hanging above the cribs in the nursery... they are absolutely stunning and could so be diy'd.

Seriously considering dragging my husband to DC for a weekend this spring... would love to see this house in person. :)
