my new painting and new tag sale stuff!

I made out pretty good at Luckett's.  I saw this painting on the website and I knew I'd make a beeline for it upon arrival.  Sure enough, I had to have it, and the wonderful dealer was able to work with me to make it fit in my budget.  It's old and crusty and really moody, all of which makes it totally endearing to me!

You know how much I've labored over my big tall wall in my dining area. I love love love my Clare Elsaesser prints but it was just dwarfed on this tall wall.  And I wasn't feeling a gallery wall here since this area is part of my only living space in my home and I didn't want a cluttered feel on the wall.  And... I've seen so many gallery walls as of late that I'm starting to feel a bit over it at the moment [gasp].  Don't tell my hallway though... he still thinks they are great.  When I purchased some new dining chairs a few weeks back it changed the whole dynamic so I set out on a mission to make this nook work for real this time.

And here's my new old painting all hung up on the wall.

For now, I'm totally happy with it. Every time I walk from my office into the kitchen, I love it even more. My house is starting to feel more like a home with more art up on the walls.  Have you ever been in someone's house with no art on the walls? It's so impersonal. We may not all agree on different types of art and their value, but I think we all agree art in any form is good!

And the Queen agrees.

Before you go, here's an update of the things recently added to our Tag Sale page. Frequent re-decorators ring a bell?

I bought this scrumptious fabric from Shannon on a whim thinking I would change out my coral drapes for some greenies, but sadly the green doesn't go with my ceiling paint.  So I have 5 yards of this cotton velvet to offer at an even more discounted price.  I bought it for $30/yard but I'm willing to part with it at $20/yard.  SOLD

Green is all the rage this year since Pantone marked Emerald as the Color of the Year for 2013.  I was super inspired by these pics.

Also for sale are three glass globe pendant lights (hardwired).  I originally purchased these from One Kings Lane and had them on our Tag Sale for $75/each but I need to get rid of them so I bumped them down to $45/each.  Brand new! SOLD

Looky here!  This super cool graffic wool Danish runner didn't work out for one of our client projects, so we're offering it at $400.  Brand new!

And last but not least, this large custom relaxed-Roman shade in Waverly's Cross Section - Charcoal fabric. It is 54 inches long by 77 inches wide, made for two 35 inch windows.  I need to get some storage space back, so I'm motivated to move this.  Make me an offer! SOLD

Let me know if you are interested in anything, I might be willing to make a deal. :) Bethany [dot] Brower [at] gmail [dot] com.

  7. The painting has found a lovely home.
BTW,agree with your suggestion of a trim on our white drapery panels. If we can figure out how to do it without sewing, we will! Maybe glue?

  8. Oh, I'm so glad that they have an online store. Love the velvet-not sure I have a place for it:( You should totally make a long lumbar for your bench under the painting! I need to put art on my walls- we're missing a few large pieces of furniture so I'm waiting!
