Everyone is lovin' the juju hats these days - we're seeing them everywhere! While they've been around for years - an African headdress worn during tribal ceremonies, their rich colors add a uniqueness to decor.
Initially they were a sign of prosperity. Fitting, since you must prosper to afford one. But I love how they add a textural element to a room!
Do you juju?
I love a good DIY and I'm SURE there are some to recreate these (and not the damn yarn DIYs). Have you seen any legit recreations?

I do not juju but this may have convinced me I need to! I love the bright color of the first one....I'll keep my eye out for a DIY and let you know :)
ReplyDeleteI love these but I think I would be bothered when they got dusty. I am already sneezing just thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteThe DIY would not be hard. Finding affordable feathers would be the difficult part.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the pom pom tutorial would work, but just one sided. I am going to have to think about this! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI think this could be totally doable. Every time I see one I think how much I love it. And then I immediately think how hard it would be to dust. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE that texture! I think I'd get tired of it, but an inexpensive diy would solve that - you're the girl Bethany!!
ReplyDeleteI love juju hats minus the price tag. You should try to DIY it!
ReplyDeleteI can't stop staring at that 2nd pic.
Now that's a must have...that juju hat!
ReplyDeleteI never knew what they were called ... I like the texture too. But I love the name! JUJU baby!! xo
ReplyDeleteGreat POP of color, but I think they would fall into "fad"! and I would tire of them.....For a party .....FUN!
ReplyDeleteI love the one in the first image. I have noticed more and more of these on walls. Just beautiful, Bethany.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday.

So, this is the first time I've ever heard of the juju. But I am quickly liking it.
ReplyDeleteI have seen these in design; however not in shops or a really good DIY. Let me know Bethany.
ReplyDeleteI am having an amazing Giveaway of Plush Pumpkins from Love Feast!

Not sure why, but I've never been a huge fan of the juju. I do like the texture and pop of color they add, but they just don't "do it" for me.
ReplyDeleteSo true Bethany, after I saw one of these over at HOUZZ, I tried looking for one and I was shocked with the price tag!!!!!! I haven't tried looking for a DIY version though, but I think that would be a great idea - hey, let's all get our feather boas try to make one! LOL! :-)
ReplyDeletethe Juju is so fun! Great way to add a little oomph to a room!!
