I would like to share with you Loi Thai's lovely blog, Tone on Tone, and have got to make a sojourn to his beautiful Swedish antiques store in Bethesda, MD soon. What caught my eye is Loi's topiaries that he has so magnificently collected and nurtured in his home and gardens. Since Bethany and I are slightly obsessed with topiaries, I wanted to share some photos of Loi's with you.
You can see more about the home of Loi and Tom on Lauren Liess's Pure Style Home , since she was there recently. His home is a perfect blend of simplicity, exquisite styling, amazing antiques and classic garden accents, all wrapped up in neutrals and white.
In asking Loi more about his topiaries, he told me he picks up specimen plants at Garden Shows and places like the NY Botanical Garden Antique Show. He uses " mrytus communes compacta" variety Myrtles since they are easily shaped. I love this look, and would love to have real topiaries inside my home.
Do you use real topiaries or artificial, or none at all ?

Isn't his home gorgeous, I pinned those topiaries on the weekend! Great minds... :)
ReplyDeleteHi Pam, I was thinking his home looks like your style ! Have a great week.
DeleteWhat a lovely home! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI used to have 2(3-tiered) tall topiaries in my dining room but it only lasted several months. Sigh. Maybe I'll start with something small next time.
Ive never had a REAL topiary, so think I'll try. I have purged my home of artificial plants in favor of real ones, and am getting more brave to try interesting varieties! How's your foyer going?
DeleteOh I adore his style and those topiaries!!

DeleteHi Nancy - You made my Monday!! :-) Thank YOU for posting my little article. I've been so busy unpacking a new container....was going to comment on a couple of your older posts. Was that a headboard you all were working on this weekend? I'd love to see the after when you're done. BTW, I've used dried boxwood topiaries....they are great looking! Thank you, and have a great week. I just added you all to my blogroll / list. :-) Loi

ReplyDeleteOh dear, this is ultimately my favorite style of décor; the grays and whites and simple settings add to the peaceful environment I am seeking these days.
