I have a drawer full of striped tops, citrine striped sheets, blue and white striped area rugs, blue and white striped outdoor cushions. Are you a stripe person? You either are or you aren't!

Yikes Stripes

I was listening to [my fave] Cosmo Radio the other day and they had a fashion editor on to gab about what's trending this spring -- stripes!  

However it occurred to me whilst listening... when have stripes not been cool?

They have transcended everything. And are so versatile.

A little ticking doesn't have to always be country.

Black and white doesn't always have to be Parisian.

Navy and white doesn't always have to go boating.

Seersucker doesn't always have to be sweet.  Although Seamus does desperately need this gentlemanly bow for his collar...

And so on and so forth.

Stripes are so cool they fell in love with each other and made many a lovechild... chevrons, herringbones, arrows and plaids!  I can remember having a favorite striped shirt from every decade and half-decade I've lived.  Haven't you? 

So while always in and totally relevant, I ask you, do you remember a time when stripes weren't in fashion?

In or Out?

I still don't have a plan for a laundry room with guest 1/2 bath attached.  I have always loved stripes and striping a wall is a plan I wanted to implement, but I have to ask now....are they IN or  OUT?

I feel if I wait much longer I won't have to ask.

While stripes in fashion has spanned the decades, I feel it is more timeless than on the walls.

My all time favorite movie set room (Something's Gotta Give) grounds the space with stripes. I know I'm not tired of this!

By the end of this post I think I've arrived at the decision to keep the stripes to clothing or at the very least use it with a surprisingly current color or in a surprising way. I'd love your thoughts.
