Cubby, for lack of a better word

This wooden wall "cubby" has housed many collections over the last 15 years. Of late it has become a catch-all with assorted blue and white ceramics, porcelains, candle holders, etc.  Bethany suggested I showcase some silver and consolidate the look into one theme, instead of a mishmash of objects.  A quick and easy challenge! Love those.

This is the only before picture I could find:

This was before my first room makeover for the One Room Challenge, then called Spring Into Action, April 2012.

I played around ( at night) with some silver pieces.

Then I had to clean all the silver and found a super easy recipe:

I didn't want to commit to painting the backs of each cubby, so I cut peacock colored paper from Michael's and used rubber cement to attach it to the wood.

I didn't quite have enough small pieces to fill each  space so I Rub N Buff'ed a black clock until I could add some more silver pieces:

I found some new small silver pieces while antiquing yesterday with my friend Kerry from Design du Monde  so my collection is complete!

We had more fun having lunch and trying on vintage hats while snooping in every shop in  Old Town Fredericksburg. She's a doll.

Hope you get into some fun today.
