Happy Holidays and welcome to my Christmas home.
I am simplifying this year.
My theme this year is a 'throwback' Christmas where I have done less of a color themed tree and more of our families ornaments over the last 40 years.
We have a 10' scotch pine which, as you probably know, is not great for heavy ornaments, so everything is lightweight and pushed to the inside branches making for a more lovely display at night when the interior details are illuminated.
I haven't had our German wooden pyramid nativity scenes out in years. I brought out my mother's vintage ceramic tree with those funny plastic colored lights.
I have collections of Santas, Nutcrackers and Snow Globes.
I wish I could have you in for eggnog, a roaring fire and Christmas music!
I just love this time of year and wish you all the merriest of holidays!
It looks absolutely gorgeous, Nancy. Just love the mantle with the magnolias and the tree is so pretty - love the bows!! Every year, we go through each ornament - love the memories…
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Nancy, simple is best. Your mantel looks so pretty - magnolia is one of my favorites! Isn't it fun to pull out the old decorations and reminisce?
ReplyDeletei LOVE it! the mantle is so beautiful, natural, and unique! and love the dining table as well- simple natural love!
ReplyDeleteWe're doing simple, too, this year! Love your decorations - the mantel is beautiful and I'm a fan of nutcrackers!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Nancy! I love your dining table, and the coffee table with the striped candles. Such a fun idea to bring out the memorable pieces for a throwback! Wish I could join you for that eggnog, I know we could sit and chat for hours! :)
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful! I haven't even started decorating yet because I'm afraid of what our new puppy might get her teeth into! :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteThe tree is beautiful and it's wonderful to enjoy memories. Isn't that what Christmas is all about??
ReplyDeleteNancy, I love your "throwback" theme! What a warm and happy Christmas home, I hope you spend lots of time enjoying it with your family this holiday season! XO
ReplyDeleteI love it Nancy!!!!! I'm sure once all your family comes they will look and remember each one of your decor! So beautiful too, doesn't look laid back to me at all, simply, well-curated and just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy...it's rustic and simple and beautiful...your efforts are a success!
ReplyDeleteOmg @the nutcracker on the horse! Absolutely curious about that one. I'm still waiting on a large collection of German nutcrackers due to me from my German grandmother, who passed away. It's safe to say that I'm *obsessed* with them, from cheap to highly valued. I will totally
ReplyDeletebe copycatting your little white plant pots!
Love it ! Natural, warm, and cozy!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays,
Sharon
