I hope you all are off to either a great start of the school year, or for those of you who started prior to Labor Day, I hope all the jitters and kinks are working themselves out. I do miss the days when my house was buzzing with school preparations and my husband was starting a new high school football season. (He coached for 40 years.) I don't miss the sleepless nights before the first day of school, the nervous tummies and the complaints about a teacher being 'mean'. This too shall pass, my mom always told me, and sure enough it did.
This past holiday weekend featured a trip to Hamilton, Va to the Ekster Antiques Barn event.
Their 8,000 square foot former dairy barn is chock full of European, Belgian and Scandanavian-style antiques, furniture and home accents. The owners travel abroad several times a year and fill containers with a gorgeous collection representing old and new, antiques and modern. They have great taste and the prices were fantastic. I'll let you tour through my photos and let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
The owners are also available by appointment if you contact Ekster Antiques. Can't wait for the next barn sale!
Next time I'm taking the truck.
My heart is racing! I see so many great things to grab. Can't wait to see what you find at the next sale.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I've got to go!
ReplyDeletei have got to make it out there one of these days! we are finalizing invitations for a blogger event at sweet clover on 10/4- hope you are around! :) we will be inviting you!
ReplyDeleteI love going to Ekster!! Thanks for the taste of the sale ... I had hoped to go, but it wasn't possible. We were in the neighborhood at Great Meadow at the Scottish Games, but we were too hot and tired when we left there and we had no energy to be barn shopping. Next time, for sure.
