It took me a while to get on board with Radiant Orchid, Pantone's color of the year, but in small doses, I'm all over it.
Especially loving saturated magenta as an accent color with beige, taupe, gray--or just about any color scheme!
What do you think?
I am with you...it took me a while to warm up, but now I am fully embracing it!
ReplyDeleteWhile I think it looks great in some spaces, it is just not me.
ReplyDeleteI was ice cold and now I would say I'm room temp on it. :) I guess that's progress, right?
ReplyDeleteI love this color in an orchid plant placed in a neutral home with an additional pop of magenta as an accent ... More like a punctuation mark. You showed interesting uses of the color in this post, thanks.

Accent yes, but by the time I find where to add it....it will be another year and another color!
ReplyDeleteSign me up, I'm a pink girl!
ReplyDeleteI do really like it in small doses like art, pillow throws for sure!!
ReplyDeleteI had painted a wall in our guest room this color, and the ceiling in that bathroom about 3 years ago...I agree..it's a powerful color that works well with just a touch or two
ReplyDeleteI can't get into it. Too purple for me, and I'm not a purple person. "Keep Orchid in flowers!" ;)
ReplyDeleteI love it in small doses! It can pack a punch. I agree it looks great with the tans, and also orange!
ReplyDeleteAdore the artworks in this color palette! Otherwise small doses, yes!

I do like it with neutrals, as you mention.
ReplyDeleteamazing timing of this post as just yesterday I **painted** a grey silk lampshade with Radiant Orchid paint ($3 sample pot of Pantone paint) so it had some life against my Hazy Skies walls. so much better now. as an accent color in small doses it does play well with so many cool and neutral tones.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan! I love all of those rooms.
ReplyDeleteI hate to be deadly honest but NO! I can stand it in small doses but I really think it is going to go the way of the orange shag carpet of the 60's.
ReplyDeleteI love your honesty Cindy and know it's not for everyone. Thank you! xo Nancy
DeleteI like it in small doses...the last two images are lovely...
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing about purple or any of it's relatives, I have never used it in a home, but in my flowers inside and out, it is key!!!

I still have to get on board with this color, but I agree with you on small doses, makes it more interesting. :-)
