One Room Challenge - Where are They Now

We've done quite a few of these challenges, and as I was telling my friend last night, I don't know if I'd be this far redoing the rooms in my home if it weren't for the ORC.  Thank you Linda at Calling it Home!  I haven't changed any of my rooms (yet) but I know Bethany is always tweaking her master bedroom.  Here is where we are today.

We participated in the One Room Challenge featuring Bethany's master bedroom in August 2012.

A year and a half later, she's always tweaking, planning and changing her MBR 2.0 .  She quickly tired of the busy pattern and upholstered a new headboard,  is planning for new drapes in a neutral pattern and painted over the 'drop ceiling' illusion on the walls.  Here it is today:

In March 2013, I joined another ORC to redo my laundry room. I was so pleased that my husband made all the cabinetry and Bethany and I had a ball doing the nailhead trim.

In November 2013, I participated in the ORC Link Party with a powder room reveal:

My current mission is my guest room makeover so stay tuned! The 'frequent redecorators' are at it again!

  1. Oh this was fun, to see all your ORCs! Isn't it great to have a motivator to get something done in your home? That's why I commit to hosting holidays…….so I will actually pull my house together! Can't wait to see what's next for the PB Team and the ORC.

  3. It's so fun visiting these fabulous rooms again! The old headboard, nailhead trims and the rope pendant are still my favorites! You both did a wonderful job!

P/S: Nancy, just wondering, do you have the link where we were mentioned at House Beautiful? I am curious to see what was it about. Send me the link when you get a chance? Thanks. Have a good day!

  18. nancy -- I had forgotten how much I loved that laundry room when I furst saw it. I'm doing a similar ribbon/nailhead accent trim (to hide the sketchy trim job I did when installing my fabulous Marco Polo wallpaper). Thought I was soooo creative -- I must have subconsciously been channelling your laundry room! Glad to know glue is NOT necessary. That detail is the one thing that's kept me from finishing that room -- I just do NOT want to fiddle with any more glue in there!

    Thanks for the update!

  20. I agree that the ORC is the perfect motivation!! I LOVE all of these rooms and my hands down favorites are the CB2 pendant and pottery in the bathroom and that nail-head trim kills me every time I see it! And you can never go wrong with monogrammed shams!! :)
