and do yourself a favor and try this wine. It's amazing.
We bought our first bottle in a little artsy town in western North Carolina called Black Mountain and were totally suckered in by the story and the wine expert on staff. A cousin-out-of-wedlock to another favorite of ours, The Prisoner has a cult following and is only available until the batch runs out each year. Initially, we got taken for $50 a bottle, but were hooked so we didn't much care. To our great surprise, we found it at Wegman's last night for $37 a bottle and snapped up a few.
Go getcha some!

Thank you sweet daughter for the bottle of Prisoner for Valentine's Day! Your dad and I opened it last night and it is a wonderful, multi-layered, complex, and opulent wine! A wonderful change from my usual picks. xoxo Mom
ReplyDeleteShhhhhhhhh!!!!!! You're not supposed to tell anyone about this. We discovered The Prisoner several years ago and love it. In fact my husband who has been in sunny Palm Springs this week while I've been looking at snow, will come home to a late dinner and a bottle (or two?) of this wine. It's great with steak and chocolate. Another favorite is Native Nine. It's a pinot noir but it drinks like a cab. Red wine is perfect for this day of hearts: it helps raise the HDL. Enjoy your day.
