I just finished a marathon of Downton Abbey, catching up on all three seasons within just about a week. And now I feel as though I have a gapping open sore on my heart with no episodes to look forward to at night. But mostly, I miss the witty quips from the Dowager.
What has filled the Downton Abbey hole for you, in the off season?

I love the Dowager! I must say that otherwise, I do not watch TV. Weird, I know but the TV is monopolized by my husband watching CNBC or cartoons. Helen watches a few shows too, LOL!
ReplyDeleteNothing can quite fill the void but I do like the BBC's Sherlock. He can be quite snarky like the dowager ;)
ReplyDeleteThis wil sound weird, but Sons of Anarchy. I'd never seen it before but a friend suggested we watch it and now the hubs and I watch two episodes a night. Also, House of Cards (on Netflix) only is really good.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am horrible at shows ... the tv is always on ... my favorite ... don't laugh ... Nashville on Wed nights. I just love the Nashville drama and music!! xo
ReplyDeleteI do miss Downton Abbey, but now that Mad Men has started againk, I am happy on Sunday nights!!
ReplyDeleteI've been watching "the riches" on netflix -AMAZING show! Not sure how I've missed it till now!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with Scandal. I found it late, and did a marathon on Netflix to catch up.
ReplyDeleteI never got on the Downton Abbey train (hangs head in shame). But I have been hooked on Dallas on TNT and the season finale was Monday night. Need to find something to fill the void and the housewives are wearing very thin.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching "Mr. Selfridge" though I'm not a Jeremy Piven fan. Just need the weekly injection of old timey Limeys.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the club Bethany! I just finished the Netflix series with Kevin Spacey & Robin Wright Penn, House of Cards. Have Mad Men and Smash on my DVR, but nothing like Downton right now. :-(
ReplyDeleteoh....Pride and Prejudice about 18 times?
ReplyDeleteI am missing the boat here....haven't seen Downton Abbey yet! But I'm definitely going to!
ReplyDeleteShows I never miss: Scandal, Mad Men, Castle, Cougar Town, Survivor and Dodger games :)
Have a great evening!
P.S. Smash is fantastic too!
ReplyDeleteI'm watching Mr Selfridge, too. I don't think Jeremy Piven was the right guy to cast in the role, but I'll watch regardless. It's no Downton!
ReplyDeleteElementary with Jonny Lee Miller & Lucy Liu. He plays a snarky Brit! Also, Call the Midwife on PBS.
ReplyDeleteI know!! its been horrible not having Downton! We've been recording all the Mr. Selfridge's but havent watched them yet. My hubby & I just finished all 7 seasons of West Wing- we've seen them all before years and years ago but decided to watch them again and it became our nightly routine-to the point where the kids were like "really??? another West Wing??" They actually cheered when we finished the last episode. LOL
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing like 2 months ago!! OMG it was the best week ever...but boy was I glued to the ipad.....even in the carpool line...my husband thought I was insane. Isn't it so good!! But I could not believe the ending! Now to wait until Jan!
