Holiday Peaks

Happy New Year friends!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday, I sure did.  One of my goals was to soak up the love with family and my siblings and kids around me...
 and 'my cup runneth over'.

It started with a family Christmas party for 40+ on Dec. 13th and didn't stop til after Christmas.  My brother and his wife stayed with us for 5 days, my niece with her 4 kids
( ages 4-11) after that and lots of family dinners staying at the table with drinks and talking 'til midnight and general frivolity....LOVED it! A table full for brunch Christmas Day  joined by family in from Charleston and Front Royal, VA, helped to make this a great Christmas.

A tradition of ours is to go to DC to see the National Tree, which I have to say was a disappointment (seriously you couldn't get a tree large enough to fill up the frame for the lights?), but the CAPITOL tree never disappoints.

As you may have seen in a recent post one of my goals this year is to revamp my kitchen, but then this is also happening:

Our family room has been my hidden secret for 20 years- I have never removed the paneling but always 'zhushed' around it a dozen times pretending to love the 'lodgey' feel since the ceiling beams and brick wall of the fireplace were parts I love in there.
My husband got the hardwood flooring and this is going to finally happen!  I am so excited.
You know we love all things equestrian around here and I love this Rebecca Ray bag Bethany got me. ( Did you know orange is one of my favorite colors?)

I hope you have a great start to the New Year and I too will be organizing and into big projects to kick it off.
 Stay well!
