The perfect Christmas...

...isn't so perfect.  It's not about the "stuff" but more important the journey to Christmas.  It's about celebrating those you love.
Some of our favorite family holiday traditions involve annual family reunion christmas parties, cutting down the biggest Christmas tree we can manage, having a special Christmas Eve family dinner, giving my kids Christmas pj's to unwrap the night before, and still reading "The Night Before Christmas" every year to my grown up kids. It gets us all warm and fuzzy.

Happy journey through the holidays!

  1. I needed this post today to keep things in perspective on a day when I am very overwhelmed. I need to keep repeating this as a mantra in my head for the next 10 days and then kick back and enjoy my time with my family. We have many of the exact same traditions you mentioned including the Christmas Eve dinner, the PJ's and the reading of the Night Before Christmas (my "kids" are 24,23 and 20)!

Have a wonderful day, Nancy! xoxo

  6. NANCY! HELLO THERE! I just got home from a long day at work, saw your comment, and RAN OVER! Those horses, yes! We have shared in the muse of nature, haven't we? This theme has been really been strong in my mind this season, and you too have been enjoying the simpler things in life and during the holiday. I wish you the happiest of seasons dear Nancy, and thank you so much for your kind comment today! Anita
