Powder Room Update II

So the dirty work is behind me. I have scraped the texture off the ceilings, as described in this post, and painted, caulked and finished the ceiling. It went from this

to this and boy am I happy with it. Wish I could do my whole house, but that's for professionals!

Caulk is the miracle maker when you have gaps in the ceiling and moulding! Next I wallpapered the walls with an Alligator print from Wallpaper Update and it went on beautifully.  You can see my tutorial post here.

What did I accomplish or learn on this project so far?  That removing textured ceilings is totally doable but a huge mess, and not one I want to tackle on a large ceiling.  Also, the wallpaper went well partly due to proper wall prep- a critical stage.  Next week the fixtures go in! Hope to see you then!  Thanks for stopping by as we link to the ORC linking party at Calling It Home! So exciting to see what everyone is doing!

  3. The wallpaper is fab! Yes, removing textured ceiling is a pain in the butt! Our last house had it everywhere! Apparently builders do that a lot? Saves them money vs doing a smooth ceiling? Not sure, but love what you did.
