WDC Field Trip

Bethany and I journeyed into DC last Friday to go to the Washington Design Center.  It was great meeting some of the company reps that we talk to on the phone.  The WDC is about an hour and a half from us and it is not opened on the weekends, so we don't just run down there to borrow swatches. I wish it were closer!

The great thing about the Design Center is the size of their samples. The fabrics and wallpapers are images you don't have to squint at.  They are amazing! We fell over dead over the Phillip Jeffries papers.

We have had a sample of this slate wallpaper at our studio, but seeing an entire wall papered in it was amazing!

Here are some more random shots of our day.

We had a ball doing our "market research" (a.k.a. any kind of shopping)!

  11. Oh, and another thing, that elephant grass cloth looks just like a sample of a really cheap grasscloth I bought from American Blinds, spray painted with silver and then sanded down to get back to some of the grass. Hopefully I'll get to the project before it goes out of style!

  14. The Washington Design Center looks like an incredible place. Loving that wallpaper and that sconce! I went to the Dallas Design Center a few weeks back for the Sneak Peek and I saw so many amazing things, I think I ended up doing three post on my peeking. I hope you enjoyed the Center - so many amazing things to see. I was born and raised in Southern Maryland but have never been to this design center.
    Thanks, Patty

  15. Have to know, who makes that sconce? It's fabulous!!! My favorite Phillip Jeffries papers are the Lacquer collection, particularly the quilted...looks just like a patent leather Chanel bag.
