TIN ROOF....RUSTED

I love a metal roof.  They remind me of quaint historic towns and cute cottages in the woods.  Around here, you seldom see them on expansive sprawls and larger houses, because they are so expensive to put in and replace. My hubby and I dream of replacing our singles with a metal roof, while we can.  Our house is tiny.  This is probably the only time in our lives we could afford it.

While I'm always looking for metal roofs, Mom is always on the lookout for slate roofs. She loves them!

Did you ever live with a metal roof?  Did you like the sound of the wind and rain on it?  Or did you hate it?

  1. funny you should ask that since I did grow up in a home with a metal roof! Back in the Phlippines, almost all the houses had metal roof, the kind that we have here are for "the rich" as well as the adobe type of roofing. I remember our first home, my dad wanted adobe so much, he made our front porch adobe and the rest metal! hahaha! He probably wanted to convey we 'could afford" that kind of roof at that time! Have a great weekend dear!!!

  5. I love your new design! It took me a sec, but I noticed the side bar was different first-I don't know how I missed the header?! Love metal roofs-expensive but they last a lifetime, I guess the same goes with slate. I've never been under a metal roofed home I'd love to hear what it sounds like in a rain storm!

  7. we also wanted a new roof and a windy storm ripped it off, and it was replaced by the insurance company! now we just have to fix all of the rotten walls that we didn't know about and we'll have a new house. It's been a hard four months, with a lot of horrible surprises. Hopefully we will be able to fix it all, praying every day that God will help us. Please keep us in your prayers if you can.
Thanks and thanks for the amazing blog!

  10. Metal roofs can be a blessing or they can be utter dismay, but it is always true they just make a house look so much cooler, especially when it starts to age a bit and the weathering changes its colors. Yours looks really great, my husband said that it is really his favorite type of roofing structure, thank you again.
