Stacked wood fireplaces

We've had a very busy weekend, and my plan to cut fireplace logs to fill my living room fireplace did not get done... But I want it to look like these; a simple solution to an unused fireplace, since we use only the one in our family room.

Aren't these gas logs the coolest thing you've ever seen? I wish I could come up with a DIY for these!

I'm in the midst of holiday decorating, and there just aren't enough hours in the day! Gotta remember to sloooow down!

Enjoy your week!
Nancy

  1. I'm obsessed with this look. Our fireplace doesn't work and I seriously want to get some birch to fill up the space. It looks so cozy!

  2. I love the architectural feel of this. I imagine it would become difficult to find the right size pieces of wood?

  3. I wish I could do this in my non-working gas fireplace. I am so afraid of the bugs that might come with all of that wood. Do have any tips for avoiding that?

  4. I love the look of stacked logs in a fireplace. I've also seen fireplaces stacked with books, which is beautiful, too. Those glass logs are gorgeous!
    Have a happy Monday, Nancy,

  7. There is a site where you can buy these precut and ready to slide into the fireplace. I know Swoon Worthy has used this and it looks fab in her home. http://gettingitswoonworthy.blogspot.com/

  8. Hi, Nancy -
Have you been outside today? It's so unseasonably warm. Love that stained wooden mantel in the 2nd photo. Wonderful photos! Look forward to seeing your holiday decorations! :)

  9. What a great look. I used to live in an historic home where the fireplaces were too old to use. This would have been perfect!

  10. Beautiful, and the gas logs are fabulous! Great way to store the wood. I live in the south and spiders get in the wood. I wonder if there is a way to prevent this.
Hope that you week is off to a great start.
