The first thing we DIY'ed in January 2012 was Bethany's bathroom ceiling, which was the start of her "zhushing turned year-long bathroom remodel". We created our own stencil inspired by the O&L wallpaper "Best in Show".
Then Nancy took on her first sofa reupholster here:
In February we stenciled Bethany's hallway here:
A highlight in March was antiquing with Eddie Ross here:
We made a headboard for Nancy's master bedroom to go along with her dropcloth curtains. (So far we are realizing how bad our picture taking skills are!)
In March we also started working with clients doing design boards like these:
In April, Nancy participated in the Spring Into Action Challenge and did a breakfast room makeover involving recovering the chairs, adding the custom drapes, a kitchen valance and new chandelier.
We are constantly DIY'ing planter boxes, over-dying rugs, painting trays, zhushing, tweaking, and otherwise obsessing with our homes.
Bethany participated in the One Room Challenge and did a master bedroom makeover.
Bethany and her husband finally finished their guest bathroom reno in October, complete with new pedestal sink, tub, tile shower, tile flower and toilet!
Bethany's home was finalized for our photo shoot for our upcoming website:
We were so fortunate to have such a successful first year in business and in blogging. We want to thank you, our readers and new friends, for supporting us along the way and breathing creativity into the air. Without which, we would never have been able to take on 8 new clients this year and launch what we hope to be a great new chapter in our lives! Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts.
Nancy and Bethany

NANCY!!!!!!!!!!!! TALK ABOUT SUCCESS and making beautiful things come alive! YOU ARE FABULOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteOh how I love that gray upholstered headboard, and really, all of it! BRAVO! And thank you so much for visiting and for your kind comments! It was a labor of love indeed, this paper dress, and I hope to do more. But many things are NOT in place yet for me to continue with another project of this caliber. My basement is just not a suitable area for this type of work. I am SO FORTUNATE in the sense that just up the road about 3 miles, are the Northrup King art studios in Northeast Minneapolis where I live. IF I COULD, I would rent out a studio for myself. But at this stage, I cannot afford it. I have to see if this is exactly where I am headed, designing windows.
But it was a tremendous year, and I wish you a FANTASTIC continuation of a shining career already gone successful! Anita
