Tryin to find my groove

Mom asked when I was going to get my posting groove back.  Of course I am, I'm just lacking inspiration lately. I've been up to my anklebiters in puppy lovin'.  And babysitting the puppy.  And stopping to kiss the puppy.  If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, I'm sure you've seen a lot of him.  But I have to listen to all of my friends and all of the people all over the world talk about and overly photograph their kids, so I'm going to do it with mine! And I'm trying to snap tons of pics of him while he's little, since it doesn't last long.

Baby Shamey wishes everyone a Happy Halloween!

Batten down the hatches for Sandy...

Loving his seeeester on the way home from Asheville

We had beautiful weather on vacation!

My adorable hubby on top of Chimney Rock!

Other blips on my radar include putting some finishing touches on my house.  We're having a good friend who happens to be a spectacular photographer snap some shots of our spaces we've designed for our portfolio and that includes my abode.  I'd love to get a lot more done before the shoot, but there just aren't enough hours in the day.

Prime/Paint kitchen cabinets
Install open shelving in kitchen
Put guest bathroom back together post reno
Touch up bathroom paint
Upholster settee
Finish painting guest bedroom
styling guest bedroom
roman shade for guest bedroom
Paint exterior french doors
Put up new shutters
Install glass tile backsplash - questionable
Hang pendants in kitchen

I wanted to makeover my kitchen in 2012 and while there's still time, it just hasn't been a priority.  I have all the styling elements, it just comes down to finding the time to put in the elbow grease (sanding, priming and painting cabinets).  I have long been decided on the dark lower cabinet and light upper cabinet look but I'm starting to rethink that in favor of all white.

These are some of my faves.  I'm floating somewhere in between all of the glass mullions and mirrored cabinet doors and the moody contrast.

Hopefully I'll be back with some decor content ASAP :)

Think hiring a designer is too expensive? Think again! There are so many different ways to work with a designer. We offer room consultations, paint suggestions, shopping and sourcing, complete room and house redo's, staging and reworking your current furniture, spot-checks in areas that aren't quite gelling and many other services. eBoards are a quick and easy way to get a design look and feel in your home. While hiring a designer may cost you a bit extra, we aim to save you money by preventing costly mistakes in your design plan.

  1. Everyone needs a break now and then! I vote all white with mirrors!

  2. Don't feel too bad we all face a lull in inspiration at times. I, too, am a bit under-inspired at the moment. I love all white cabinets. I say go for it.

  3. Bethany, the pictures of the puppy are just too adorable!! I love those dogs and can't see enough pictures!!
The kitchens here are all gorgeous, so you have great inspiration. You have done a lot. Take your time, Bethany.
    Happy Thursday.

  4. Oh the puppy...just SO cute! And don't worry about the break- we all need them from time to time! Love your kitchen inspirations!!

  5. Your baby is beautiful. You enjoy your new mommy time. We'll be here when you come back :)

  6. I know what you mean Bethany. I have always been a lover of the all white kitchen but lately I'm really smitten with gray lowers and white uppers. Is that trendy? And would I tire of it? Probably...haha. So hard to make these big decisions!

  7. I would totally be distracted by that puppy! I just met with a client yesterday that has a big bulldog named Miss Cooper. I would have taken her home if I could have sneaked her out! And yes, blogging is draining and sometimes it's hard to keep coming up with posts. We'll be on standby!

  8. Post all the puppy pics you want, Bethany! I love them.
Ah, Asheville. I need to get over there soon and get my Tupelo Honey Cafe fix. Then go to Chimney Rock and walk it off. Spectacular view from up there, isn't it?
    Moody that term.

  9. Honeykins you got your whole life ahead of you to do whatever you want!

  10. Love, love, love those kitchens!! Enjoy being a new mommy, and a break in the action!

  11. Love that puppy! I've been lacking inspiration/motivation lately...trying to find my of these days...Love those pictures!

  12. Puppy is so cute. We don't tire of your pictures of him. I vote white uppers dark lowers in the kitchen. But, you are the primo designer so I know whatever you do will be fabulous. (I find it hard to blog with all the Frankenmonster details. I just want to be with people I love and not sweat any details. So grateful for many blessings.)

  13. Nothing like a puppy to love. You will get back in the groove with the Holiday season officially open!! I know my mind has been spinning today!!! happy first day of Novemember,

  14. Love your inspiration photos Bethany! I loved the photos of your sweet pups...hey there are our children as well!! Have a great weekend!
