Bye pool baby good bye

This week was the official end of our pool season here in Virginia. That is, if you didnt mind 65 degree water temperatures! My husband loved to get in and soak after football practice every night (he coaches high school football)- kind of like an ice bath I suppose. It wasn't for me, but I sure loved to look at the blue water.  Now that the top is on, it just means winter is around the corner.

The leaves are just starting to fall, so we had to get the cover on before it got to be more of a nuisance.

I did finishing painting my deck just in time for fall - even in a fall color!

Enjoy your Sunday.

    1. ...and a wonderful son, too, who is backpacking in Europe currently. Thanks for your support Renee. I know you'll be immersed in the seasons in Maine. Any horses making the trip with you? Hope you are doing well despite the tough times pulling up roots.

  2. The end of summer is always a little sad to me. Autumn is OK but I despise winter.
Your deck looks fantastic. How long did it take?

    1. It took one whole day, but I did it with a paint brush on my hands and knees, thinking I'd do a better job that way. Boy, did that get old fast, but I did saturate it, and still have the railings to do :(

  3. We have yet to close our pool Nancy but yeah, that is always a little sad ritual when we say goodbye to the pool. Love the way your deck is looking, can't wait to see it spruced up again next spring. :-)

    1. I can't wait to decorate it in the spring, too. I just had too much going on to get it done this summer, but it's done! Now to do the railings.. When do you close your pool? Is it heated?

    1. You must be loving the fall right now in NE. Are these leaves in full fall foliage? Hope you had fun at the Auburn game!

  6. I went swimming in mine last night - heated it up and then peeled back the solar cover a bit so I could navigate a lane. Sad to say but its time to close ours too. I will miss it - can't wait till April to open it up!

  7. What a beautiful back yard. Not sure if all that property is yours but if not, it's a wonderful borrowed view.
